"The Jam on Jerry's Rock" Lost Radio Rounders
A ballad of the Northwoods lumberjacks. Multi-instrumentalist Paul Jossman considers his options and decides that guitar is a better choice than banjo for this tune. Good call!

"You Are My Sunshine" Lost Radio Rounders
Wonderful pure folk music!
Wow. In the 50\60's a previous forgotten music was suddenly given new life, saving thousands of songs long forgotten. Since, very few 'folk music' singers really dug into the past until now. You guys are certainly keeping a tradition alive, even finding songs that old timers like me never heard before. Thanks.
Kieran, this performance took place at the Mabee Farm Historic Site in Rotterdam Junction, NY. The old Dutch barn we played in sits about 100 yards from the banks of the Mohawk River, so we sought out a song about that river. As mentioned in the description it was used as a marching number in the American Civil War.
The waltzing rhythm comes out nicely, which is not easy for this old song. The melody might sound nicer using instruments made of coolibah wood.
Love it.
good but just not the same without an Aussie accent.
We agree! We just are not good at accents.
the supergrass song!
It's always great to hear a legitimate folk song that I've never heard before. I go back to 78 rpm times, but not back as far as Uncle Dave Macon. I enjoyed this so much, I'm not going to try finding more of his stuff. Thank you LRR.
Try Uncle Dave's "Old Plank Road" and "One More River to Cross," two of our favs!
You all sound great
Please check out our video of another song in this family of folk songs- "The Man Who Rode the Mule Around the World."
Wtf guys
Magnificent instrumentals, phantastic voice. Absolutely perfect. You deserve a greater audience. Keep on playing 👍
You are most kind, thank you!
One of my favourite songs, thank you. Great music
Great version of an old Pete Seeger song.
Thank you, Charles! Search "Fretboard Journal, Pete Seeger" and you will find a great article by our mandolin player Michael Eck.
Great version of an old Pete Seeger song.
First, Leave her Johnny
This was uploaded the day before St. Patrick's Day.
The performance itself took place on the evening of March 15. We are pleased to have so many views since it was uploaded!
@@LostRadioRounders wonderful
Just found you guys, brilliant
Thank you, Rick! Welcome aboard.
Mighty fine boys!
Yeah but can you guys sing the 1864 civil War Irish Union soldier version called We'll Fight for Uncle Sam
A fine suggestion. Just had a look at the David Kincaid version!
Hey I'm Irish and Ukrainian ukrainians and Irish seem to have a connection don't we
Sounding great!!!
An Irishman here, 👍👍👍
Thanks for the thumbs!
Where would I be able to purchase CD's. ?
@@frankcolliton10 Sad to say we currently have no distributor for physical CDs. The one we were using went under a few years ago.
very nice gents!!
Great job gents! I love it that your banjo player picks Clawhammer style on the 🪕. I am recovering from a hard year long battle with cancer and since I'm really not doing much more than going to medical appointments out the yazoo and sleeping, I think I am going to get a good beginners banjo and really work to learn how to play it. I have no excuse for not putting in the time to learn. I want to first learn how to play it clawhammer style.
We would suggest you try the Deering Goodtime Banjo as a quality beginners instrument, and no, we are not getting paid to say that. Best of luck to you with your health and your musical journey!
Super 😂, dziękuję bardzo) Mężczyźni zrobicie mój dzień Mega🎉 Słucham na automacie dziś więc 3 godzin 😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Dzięki wielkie ❤❤❤❤❤
I'm familiar with the '49 versions plus a few others such as J. Cash and I have to applaud you for adjusting the tune to make it sound fresh.
That is what they call "the folk process!"
Absolutely love this - keep up the G R E A T work gentlemen!
We LOVE what we do, and thanks for the kind words!
Fantastic!
Welcome aboard, Cat! We thank you, and we that see you have a quite a few songs posted as well!
Love it!!! It's great how you find these folk songs and it's obvious how much you enjoy singing them. Thank you...again and again!!!
I like this
If the choice is The Belmonts vs The LRR... Sorry, I'll listen to Dion😄 I hope you never attempt a Roy Orbison song. Still, it's nice to see you guys having fun! Thanks for all your songs.
Here by mistake.......You guys are not though! Play on😍
HEY! I’M LOST TOO GUYS
Welcome aboard, sir! Thank you for signing up.
Thanks again, Alain. Hope I did not butcher those few actual French words! 😀
"Or else I'll hunt you down." Now that's a folk song.Even if he didn't murder the poor girl.
Damn straight!
Zeer goed
Awesome!
I remember you singing this at our wedding!
...and I think it was the only wedding we ever played!!!
You boys are killing it. Love to hear you
Nice job fellas
Hi John, say "Hello!" to the Mrs.!
Huzza! Huzza! Huzza!
It's rare, but always great to hear a super 'folk song' for the first time; and LRR performed it magnificently.
Most the historic American Presidential campaign songs we perform are parodies of popular composed or folk songs of the candidates era. This one is based on a pre-Civil War love song called "Wait for the Wagon."
Excellent! Thanks for sharing this!
very interesting rendition. Sounds really good. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. The beauty of a folk song is that we all can put our own little twist on what has gone before.
Cordialement.
fab guys
Thanks. On a classic like this we just try to find our own spin! 🙂
Awesome, this is really good! Do you all happen to have banjo tabs for tis? I would love to play it.
Michael, email us at info@lostradiorounders.com and I'll send you a PDF of the sheet that I (the guitar player) crated for this arrangement. -Tom
@@LostRadioRounders Will do! Can't wait to get to picking!
Thanks. Enjoyed it . Have gun will travel.
😀 (I hope we got that translation right!)
😀 (Hope that is correctly translated!)
